What this actually involves.
A $300 repair today saves $3,000 of interior damage tomorrow, and we do not go hunting for full replacements. That is the whole argument for calling early. Water does not stay where it enters. It runs down the underside of the decking, along a rafter, and shows up on a ceiling two rooms away, which is why chasing the stain instead of the entry point is how a leak gets fixed twice.
Most leaks in North Texas come from four places and none of them is the middle of a shingle field. Pipe boots crack first: the rubber collar around a plumbing vent has a shorter life than the shingle it sits in, and a split boot is a slow drip into a bathroom ceiling. Step flashing where a roof meets a wall is second, usually because it was sealed with roofing cement rather than woven in. Valleys are third. Chimneys and skylights are fourth, and the counter-flashing there is almost always the culprit.

Finding it means getting on the roof. A quote from the driveway is a guess about the one part of your house nobody can see from the driveway. That is what a free inspection here is: somebody on the roof, rather than a look from the drive.
Wind damage is its own category and it is easy to miss. A gust does not always take the tab off; often it breaks the tar seal underneath and lays it back down looking untouched. That shingle is now a flap waiting for the next storm. Creased tabs, a line of lifted edges along one slope, and granules in the gutters after a windy week are the tells.
If a repair is not going to hold, we will say so. A roof already at the end of its life takes a patch that fails within a season, and patching it twice costs more than hearing the truth once.

How fast can someone look at an active leak?
Active leaks jump the queue, and we tarp when a roof is open to weather. Call rather than fill in a form if water is coming in now.
What does a roof repair cost?
A pipe boot or a handful of tabs is usually a few hundred dollars. Flashing rebuilds and valley work run higher because they mean pulling shingle back to reach the metal. The inspection is free either way, so you get the number before you decide.
Can you match my shingle?
Usually close, rarely exactly. Sun fades a roof over a decade, so a new shingle in the same color reads brighter for the first year or two and then settles. On a small repair that trade is almost always worth it.
Is a repair worth it on an old roof?
It depends how much of the field is left. If the mat is brittle everywhere, a patch tears the neighboring shingles when it goes in. That is the honest answer you should be getting on site rather than a sales pitch either way.
Will one repair void my shingle warranty?
A correctly executed repair does not. Layering a new roof over an old one usually does, and so does sealing a flashing detail with roofing cement instead of replacing the metal.
