Gutters
What this actually involves.
Gutters get replaced with a roof more often than on their own, for two reasons. The tear-off crew is already working over them, and hail that damages a roof almost always dents the gutters and the gutter apron at the same time, which means both sit on the same claim. Splitting them across two contractors is how one of them quietly falls off the estimate.
On a house sitting on North Texas clay, gutters are not cosmetic. Clay swells when it takes water and shrinks when it dries, and the movement that cracks a slab is driven by the moisture right against the foundation. A gutter that dumps at the corner instead of running to a downspout, or a downspout that ends at the wall instead of six feet out, waters the one place the house least wants watering.
How It Works
Call or text
Tell us what you are seeing. An active leak jumps the queue over a roof you are wondering about.
The inspection
Shingles lifted, flashing checked, the attic side looked at, and photographs of all of it.
You get the answer
Repair, replacement, or nothing yet. If a storm caused it, that changes who pays, and we say so.
The work, then the magnet
One crew start to finish, and a magnet over the drive, the lawn and the beds before anyone leaves.
The Difference
The parts that decide whether it lasts.
Seamless aluminum is the normal residential answer: the run is roll-formed on site to the length of the fascia, so the only joints are the corners and the outlets. Five-inch handles most Ellis County houses; six-inch is worth it on a large roof area, a steep pitch, or a valley that dumps a lot of water into one short run.
Guards are a genuine maybe. Under pecans and oaks they earn their place. On an open lot with nothing overhanging the roof they mostly add cost and a surface for grit to sit on.
We install gutters alongside the roofing. This is work that attaches to a roof job rather than a separate trade we lead with.

Gutters, answered.
Should I replace gutters with the roof?
If they are dented, sagging or older than the roof coming off, yes. The crew is already there, the drip edge and gutter apron have to integrate with the new roof anyway, and if hail did it both belong on the same claim.
Five inch or six inch?
Five handles most houses here. Six is worth it on a big roof area, a steep pitch, or where a long valley dumps into one short run.
Are gutter guards worth it?
Under trees, usually. On an open lot, usually not. They are not maintenance-free either way.
How far should downspouts discharge?
Far enough that the water is not soaking the soil against the foundation. On clay that distance matters more than the gutter itself.
